snapshots from the weekend

We started off Saturday morning at the White Rock Local Market. After watching the Food, Inc. P.O.V program the other night we realized the importance of buying your food local. We stocked up on yummy veggies and meats from a local farmer. Also our post on Smaller about small businesses dying because of big box retailers really gets me thinking about how I can support AND survive as a small business owner. Don't get me wrong, I love Target but I feel like I need to shop small businesses and small makers, farmers, etc. as much as possible.
Sunday we headed to the Dallas Zoo. We rode the monorail and played in the little river at the Children's Zoo and ended the weekend with some dinner, music, popsicles for the kiddos and beers for us and enjoyed the beautiful weather out in the backyard.
We also decided to swear off paper towels. I was totally inspired by my buddy Joslyn.
