back to NYC...

Well I am heading back to NYC to attend the kids trade fair Playtime New York! I am excited because Small Magazine is one of the lovely sponsors of the show so I will be covering all the new amazing designers and makers for our blog: Smaller.
While there we will stay with my mom in Jersey for a few days then we will spend the weekend in Soho. We are planning on seeing friends and family as well visiting the Highline and the New Museum. The girls are so excited! So am I!

Just in! From the Office of the Tooth Fairy

The Official Tooth Fairy Kit contains one letterpress Certificate
of Record for filing with your local Tooth Fairy and one reusable silkscreened cloth deposit bag for your first and all subsequent transactions. The official certificate keeps record of name, age, tooth lost, method of extraction and compensation information.

Simply place tooth in the attached envelope and insert your completed certificate in the deposit bag. Place the full bag under your pillow. The tooth fairy will collect the Certificate of Record and place your compensation in the deposit bag.

Can also buy an extra sheet or two for other siblings!

Steven in action

We just got back from an amazing weekend in upstate New York. When I was younger my dad would often take us on day trips to the Hudson River Valley and I would continue to do so with friends when I was older when we needed to escape the hustle and bustle of NYC.
Steven and I shot a wedding for a dear friend while there and I assisted him with my own little film diptech camera. We managed to take a little day trip to the town of Husdon and browse some antique shops as well as catch a yummy lunch at Baba Louie's Wood Fire Organic Pizzaria.

In this week: Washi Tapes from The Tinted Mint

I came across these Washi tapes from The Tinted Mint at Renegade in Austin (my report here) and bought some for my daughters and they loved using it on paper along with there paints. Some made it into the shop and I have been using it to wrap goods and the customers love it. So we are going to sell it! Here's the scoop about the tapes:

Made of Japanese rice paper, it is an eco-friendly tape that is perfect for crafts and surface decoration in general, from handmade cards to scrapbooking collages to refreshing an old shelf. It can be written on for labeling and used to seal envelopes. Washi tape has a satin finish, is slightly translucent, acid-free, tears easily by hand and leaves no residue after being peeled off from almost anything.

I love the shoes from Crewcuts. I just bought them to style our Spring/Summer 2011 photo shoot. These will be great with a side braid, a vintage fedora, little white socks and lots of layered necklaces.
